Final Review, Recommendations and Invitation

At this juncture the GCM staff reviews the written recommendation about the psychological evaluation from the mental health professional, impressions from the personal interview, and all materials received thus far (application, letters of reference, transcripts, etc.). Time is also spent in prayer. The determination is made whether to extend an invitation to join the missionary team and attend the Missionary Team Internship.

Sometimes the difficult decision to not extend an invitation must be made. Such decisions are not taken lightly, and only after bathing the entire process in prayer. The ultimate objective is follow God’s leading, asking for that which is best for the prospective team member(s), the newly forming team, and the mission. The decision is communicated expeditiously and in as personal a manner as possible to the prospective team member. Opportunity is always provided for questions or clarification.

Upon receiving the invitation to join the team, the prospective team member must reaffirm his/her decision to pursue team membership.
